Hilton's Huckestein to Retire
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, December 22, 2005. Dieter Huckestein, chairman/CEO of Hilton Hotels Corp.'s Conrad Hotels, plans to retire from Hilton in early-2006, capping a 35-year lodging industry career. Huckestein indicated that he plans to pursue a number of entreprenurial opportunities going forward.
In addition to his role at Conrad, Huckestein has been president of the Hilton Global Alliance, managing Hilton Hotels Corp.'s alliance with U.K.-based Hilton Group, PLC. Hilton Hotels Corp. has announced it has been in negotiations to acquire Hilton Group's hotel assets. Those discussions are expected to continue.
Before assuming his current positions, Huckestein served as president of Hilton's owned and managed hotel operations for 10 years.
Matt Hart, Hilton Hotels Corp. president/COO, will assume leadership of the Conrad brand on an interim basis. No one was named to replace Huckestein at the Hilton Global Alliance.
