Ben Seidel Named VP, Development for Waterford Hotel Group
WATERFORD, CT, January 19, 2006. Waterford Hotel Group, Inc. today announced the recent appointment of Ben Seidel as Vice President, Development for both Waterford Hotel Group, Inc. and its affiliate, Waterford Venue Services. Waterford Hotel Group currently operates 29 properties nationally; Waterford Venue Services professionally manages the newly-opened, 550,000 square foot Connecticut Convention Center.
As Vice President, Development, Seidel will have the primary responsibility for securing third-party management contracts for both hotels and public facilities, as well as identifying sites for potential new development by the firm. In this capacity, Seidel will develop relationships with potential institutional, financial and individual partners. "I am excited to return to Waterford Hotel Group in this new capacity," said Seidel. Seidel brings extensive hospitality and convention center experience to this position. Most recently, he served as General Manager for the Connecticut Convention Center during the development and construction phase, as well as overseeing the Center's successful opening in June 2005. Prior to this appointment, Seidel served as Vice President/Managing Director of The Valley Forge Convention Center Complex. Previously, Seidel held numerous senior level positions in marketing, food and beverage, and management within the hospitality industry, including prior appointments as General Manager and Regional Hotel Director with Waterford. "Ben brings a wealth of industry experience to this position. Equally as important is the past experience he has had with Waterford and the knowledge of our operating philosophies.
