OMNI Hotels Hires Director of National Acoounts

IRVING, TX, June 20, 2005. Omni Hotels recently appointed Joanne Tripp as Director of National Accounts for its Washington, D.C., national sales office. Tripp will be responsible for representing the entire Omni portfolio of hotels to customers in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas.

Tripp brings more than 27 years of hospitality industry experience to Omni's Washington, D.C., national sales office. She most recently served as senior sales manager for the Omni Richmond Hotel, where she was responsible for state, regional and national association accounts for the past 16 years. Prior to joining the Richmond property, Tripp was director of catering and convention services for a Virginia Beach hotel.

Tripp's experience is complemented by her accomplishments and participation in hospitality groups. She has been recognized as a member of Omni's President's Circle, an elite group of sales people who have achieved and exceeded their professional goals for three consecutive years. Tripp is past president of the HSMAI Chapter of the Virginias and is chair of the organization's Advisory Committee. She also serves on the board of the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE) and is an active member of Association of Meeting Professionals and the Potomac Chapter of Meeting Planners International. Tripp earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a minor in Secondary Education from Rosemont College located in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
