Broadmoor Names Washko Director of Sales and Marketing
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, February 20, 2006. John Washko has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for The BROADMOOR in Colorado Springs, the country^aEURTMs longest running Five-Star Five-Diamond resort.
Involved in many aspects of the hospitality industry on both a local and national level, Mr. Washko serves as chairman of the HSMAI Resort Marketing Special Interest Group; he sits on the board of Experience Colorado Springs (the convention and visitors bureau) and is chairman of their marketing committee.
With more than 26 years experience, Mr. Washko began in hotel sales where he worked as an account manager for the Sheraton Carlton in Washington, DC, now a St. Regis property. In 1993, his career direction shifted to the resort segment when he became a national sales manager at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. From that position, Mr. Washko advanced to Kerzner International Resorts, Inc., selling both the 2,300 room Atlantis, Paradise Sales and then as Director of Sales.
Mr. Washko joined The BROADMOOR in 2003 as Director of Sales. In his new position, he will work directly with Senior Vice President of Marketing, Mike Dimond, overseeing all sales, advertising and marketing efforts for both The BROADMOOR and the newly acquired Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado.
