. October 14, 2008

LA JOLLA, CA, February 24, 2006. Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is listed as one of the 'best places to stay in the world' in the January 2006 issue of Conde Nast Traveler.

The luxury hotel, spa and executive learning retreat is a year-and-a-half old, and the AAA Four-Diamond hotel is among an elite few in the U.S. to make the coveted "Gold List" and only one of two recognized in the San Diego area. "We are absolutely thrilled about the honor of being selected for the Gold List," said Giuseppe Lama, general manager of Estancia La Jolla. "We are delighted to be listed in the company of such fabulous hotels. We're especially proud of this award because it comes from guests that have stayed at the property. We are excited that our clients have recognized our unique hotel that encompasses the components of a luxury resort, spa, and the executive learning retreat."

The 12th Annual Gold List defines the world's finest hotels, resorts and cruise lines. The prestigious list is based on data collected from nearly 28,000 Conde Nast Traveler subscribers who completed the 2005 Reader's Choice Poll. To qualify for inclusion, each property has to receive a required minimum number of responses.

The editors at Conde Nast Traveler finalize the published list by interviewing reader poll respondents for "their insights on check-in, check-out and everything in between."
