This is first time that MGM MIRAGE has been selected to the Top 50 list. MGM MIRAGE is the only gaming company to make the list. A total of 256 companies, a 100 percent increase over the last three years, competed for a spot on the highly coveted list developed by one of America's leading business publications for diversity.
The list of winners was announced today on http://www.DiversityInc.com and a more detailed analysis of the companies will be featured in the June issue of DiversityInc magazine.
"MGM MIRAGE's commitment to diversity starts with its CEO and extends to all aspects of its business," said Luke Visconti, partner and cofounder of DiversityInc. "As a Top 50 company, MGM MIRAGE demonstrated strong unbiased recruitment and retention as well as excellence in communications and supplier diversity. It is a commitment to these management practices that have earned MGM MIRAGE the recognition on the Top 50 list," he said.
"We are proud to be recognized by one of the leading authorities on corporate diversity for having a well-rounded diversity initiative," said Terry Lanni, Chairman and CEO of MGM MIRAGE. "I salute our team of talented and hard-working employees who are dedicated to driving diversity at MGM MIRAGE."
According to DiversityInc, each company's ranking was based on four areas the survey measured -- CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate Communications and Supplier Diversity.
New this year was the requirement that companies on The DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list demonstrate consistent strength in all four areas.
Also, more weight was given to CEO Commitment, the most crucial of the four areas measured.
