Carlson Added Seven New Hotels in March

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, April 24, 2006. Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced that the company has added seven new locations to its global portfolio of brands in March. These include a Radisson Hotels & Resorts(R) property in China, two Country Inns & Suites By Carlsonsm hotels in the U.S., two new Park Plaza(R) Hotels & Resorts in Canada and Germany, and two Park Inn(R) properties in Ireland and the Russian Federation. The new additions bring Carlson's global portfolio to 927 hotels with 146,302 rooms in 70 countries.

Radisson Hotels & Resorts

The newest managed hotel welcomed into the Radisson portfolio is the Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park in Shanghai, China. The 361-room hotel is close to Shanghai New International Expo Centre, and is located in Thumb Plaza a lifestyle mall offering a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. The hotel boasts spacious guestrooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, bold colors and contemporary interior d'ecor in both furniture and furnishing. To date, Radisson's global portfolio includes 416 hotels with 94,754 guestrooms.

Country Inns & Suites By Carlson

The Country Inns & Suites brand welcomed two new properties in March, the 69-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-Fairborn South in Beavercreek, Ohio, and the 91-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson-Vadnais Heights in Minnesota. The Ohio property is owned by Dilip Patel, while the Minnesota hotel is owned by Beth and Greg Timm. Both hotels feature traditional brand design elements, including hard wood floors and fire place in the grand lobby. These new additions bring Country Inns & Suites' global hotel and room count totals to 381 and 30,550, respectively.

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts

Two new hotels joined the Park Plaza brand last month. The Park Plaza Hotel Vancouver Downtown in British Columbia, Canada, is located in uptown Vancouver offering spectacular views of the mountains, ocean and the downtown area. The hotel has 117 guestrooms, and is within walking distance to the famous neighborhood of Granville Island, and a few minutes drive to major attractions like the Science World, BC Place Stadium, major theatres and Pacific Centre Mall.

The Park Plaza Wallstreet in Berlin, Germany, is in the heart of the city's historical center, close to Alexander Platz and the Reichstag (the German government building). The hotel offers 167 deluxe guestrooms, including superior and executive rooms and suites. These additions bring the brand's global property count to 41 with 7,009 guestrooms.

Park Inn

Both of the new hotels joining the Park Inn brand in March are ideal for leisure or business travelers alike, and bring the brand's global inventory counts to 81 hotels and 10,944 guestrooms. Of the new properties, one is the Park Plaza Dublin in Ireland; the other is the Park Inn Ekaterinburg in the Russian Federation. The Ireland hotel includes 73 guestrooms and is in the city's New Cultural Quarter, close to the city center and two major train stations. Newly constructed, the 160-room Park Inn Ekaterinburg has a bright interior design, and is close to commercial, shopping and business districts.
