ATLANTA, GA, April 25, 2006. The Omni Hotel at CNN Center today announced two new additions to the hotel's management team. Peter Cronin has joined the hotel as director of sales, and Rosalyn Y. Smith has been named area director of human resources.
As director of sales, Cronin is responsible for national accounts for the Omni Hotel at CNN Center. Cronin has worked in hospitality sales in Atlanta since 1994. Smith will oversee human resources needs for the downtown hotel's growing team of 600 professionals.
"Peter brings more than 20 years of experience to our sales team, and he will be a great mentor for our sales staff," said Gary Froeba, managing director of the Omni Hotel. "Peter has consistently surpassed his sales goals in past roles, and he is a great addition to our team."
Previously, Cronin was vice president of sales for Associated Luxury Hotels International, where he handled group sales in the Southeast while managing teams in Atlanta, Orlando and Dallas. He also served as the assistant director of sales for the Hilton Atlanta & Towers and director of sales for the Hilton National Sales team, exceeding personal and team goals. Cronin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
Smith joined Omni Hotels in April 1999 at the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown as human resources manager. She was subsequently promoted to human resources director at the Omni Austin Southpark Hotel in May 2001 and human resources director at the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Dallas in January 2004. Smith was most recently promoted to area director of human resources in June 2005. Smith earned a master's degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix and she earned her Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE) certification.
"We are fortunate to have Rosalyn's human resource management expertise at Omni Hotel at CNN Center," said Froeba. "Rosalyn is a champion of the Omni culture, and she will be an excellent counselor to our Atlanta team."
