Commonwealth Adds Development Director

COVINGTON, KY, MAY 8, 2006. Scott Schilling, a 25 year veteran of the hotel industry has taken the position of Director of Development for Commonwealth Hotels, Inc. The company currently manages 18 Premium Branded hotels throughout North America, and has positioned itself to grow through third-party management contracts and acquisitions. Schilling spent the first 15 years of his career in a variety of positions with another management company before becoming Vice President of Sales for Signature Worldwide (a hospitality training company) in 1996. In June of 2002, he left Signature to operate an independent, extended stay boutique hotel. He says; "I've been fortunate to work in just about every facet of the hospitality business for some really great companies, in addition to owning my own business. So helping to grow a company like Commonwealth is not only a natural fit but really the achievement of a long term goal."

Scott is responsible for growing Commonwealth Hotels through third party management contracts with partners that share the principles outlined in our mission statement. Scott brings more than 25 years of hotel experience to Commonwealth Hotels. This includes 16 years in Property, Regional and National Sales and Marketing positions at the hotel and corporate management company level; over 3 years as General Manager for an independent, extended stay boutique hotel and 6 years as Vice President of Sales for Signature Worldwide (North America's largest hospitality training company). His varied background, outstanding service skills and personal ownership of other business interests, makes him an excellent liaison to tie together the owners' interests and the unique capabilities of Commonwealth Hotels. Scott holds a BS in Business Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
