Deborah Stinebert to Head National Sales Office, Peabody Hotels
ORLANDO, FL, MAY 26, 2006. Deborah Stinebert has been named to head the newly-opened Washington, D.C. National Sales Office for Peabody Hotels effective May 1, 2006. The announcement was made by Alan C. Villaverde, executive vice president, Peabody Hotels.
"We are pleased to have such a consummate meetings and conventions sales professional as Deborah Stinebert to spearhead our new sales office in Washington, D.C.," said Villaverde. "She knows her way around the national association headquarters offices in the Washington, D.C. area, and her experience and professional affiliations with such prestigious organizations as the American Society of Association Executives, Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, Meeting Professionals International, Professional Conference Management Association, and International Association of Exposition Managers, will be invaluable.
"Our new Washington, DC office continues the expansion of Peabody Hotels' satellite sales offices to Atlanta (2004), and New Jersey (2005)," continued Villaverede. In 1978, after her graduation with a BA (Education) from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Stinebert began her career as a sales manager with the Hyatt Regency Monterey, California. Two years later, she moved to the Hyatt on Union Square, San Francisco, as senior sales manager. In 1981 she arrived at the Hyatt Worldwide Sales Office, Washington, D.C. as regional sales manager for national accounts. The next step in her career path led to United Airlines, Washington, D.C. In 1982 she was appointed regional convention sales manager for the airline's emergence into the association convention travel market. Following two years with Conference Air Direct, Alexandria, Virginia, Stinebert was named director, Washington, D.C. office of the Seattle Convention & Visitors Bureau, a position she held from 1986 until the present.
