AUSTIN, TX, June 30, 2006. The Renaissance Austin Hotel recently announced new changes in executive management with Rob Gillette appointed as General Manager, and Tom Dolan named new Director of Sales & Marketing. Gillette has also confirmed plans for renovations to the property to be completed by September 2006.

For the past 18 years, Gillette has worked for Marriott acting in operational positions and several leadership roles prior to taking the lead at the Renaissance Austin, which is also managed by Marriott International. He worked in the restaurant and catering department in Oklahoma, moved into overseeing all Food and Beverage and Event Management in San Antonio, then became Resident Manager at the same location. He has held two previous positions as General Manager - in the Denver Marriott and most recently at the Austin Marriott at the Capital. Gillette also brings corporate experience from time spent at Marriott headquarters as Director of Beverage Development.

Dolan was previously Director of Sales at the Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa in Florida before moving into his position with the Renaissance brand. He worked at Marriott properties for 16 years in various sales management positions where he has consistently been recognized with various sales awards since 1994. Dolan is currently focusing on the execution of the planned renovations and re-launch of the property this summer.

Gillette announced that the Renaissance Austin will be undergoing renovations this summer, with more details to be released next week about areas affected and amenities. Overall, changes to the hotel will include a new bedding package, updated fitness center and exhibit hall, with changes planned for the current deli area.
