HSI Announces Release of POS 7.04
JULY 3, 2006. Hospitality Solutions International (HSI), a division of MICROS Systems, Inc., and a leading software developer, today announced the release of its flagship product, Profit Series Point of Sale (POS) version 7.04.
This latest release enables HSI's Profit Series POS to operate on Windows(R) CE .NET technology and the MICROS Workstation 4. The Windows(R) CE .NET operating system provides increased security and is less vulnerable to viruses than traditional PC's and POS workstations.
The MICROS WS4 is a low-cost workstation that offers reduced downtime and maintenance costs by allowing the identity chip from a WS4 device to be removed and then placed in a new WS4 device. When booted, the new WS4 device will automatically take the identity of the previous WS4 device and resume normal operation. The Profit Series version 7.04 also supports a variety of peripherals associated with the Workstation 4 including pole displays, cash drawers, barcode scanners, and printers.
Other improvements include the ability to force viewing of applications such as training videos when an employee clocks-in and then resume focus back to the Profit Series POS.
'HSI is committed to developing products that support the features and options the industry demands,' stated Cyndi Shepley, General Manager and Vice President, HSI. 'With this latest release, our customers can mix and match hardware options allowing them to customize the system to meet their individual requirements and budget. We are thrilled to offer the best of both worlds - easy-to-use POS software and reliable, affordable hardware.'
The HSI Profit Series Point of Sale System is an easy-to-use, scalable, Windows(R)-based, point-of-sale solution designed to fit into nearly any hospitality environment. The simplicity of design is backed by extraordinary capability and intuitive graphics. The HSI Profit Series POS links front-of-house and back-office applications in a real-time format and system changes may be made instantly even as the system is operating
