Associated Luxury Hotels Awards "Universal Orlando Diamond"
WASHINGTON, DC, July 19, 2006. Associated Luxury Hotels International awarded the impressive 1-carat "Universal Orlando Diamond" to Lara Guroff, meetings coordinator for the American Institute of Architects. Guroff (second from right) entered the drawing to win the gem at ASAE Springtime in Washington, D.C., and was recently presented with the diamond, which she is pictured here wearing as a necklace. She is seen with (from left) Pam Rodgers Dauth, director of sales for Associated Luxury Hotels; Christine Klein, managing director, meetings, American Institute of Architects; and Ed Simon, regional vice president of sales for Associated Luxury Hotels' Mid-Atlantic Region.
The "Universal Orlando Diamond" is named in honor of both the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando(R) and Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando(R). Both resorts are members of Associated Luxury Hotels, which serves the North American meetings industry with its national sales responsibilities for its membership of more than 80 of America's premier four- and five-diamond/star quality hotels and resorts, plus several extraordinary hotels and resorts in Canada, Mexico, The Caribbean and Europe.
ASAE Springtime was one of the stops on Associated Luxury Hotels' "20th Anniversary Diamond Tour," which meant that one lucky planner won a one-carat diamond by entering a drawing. The tour also included MPI-PEC, where the "Bellagio Diamond" was awarded; Associated Luxury Hotels' "Luxury Showcase," where the "ALHI Diamond" was given away; and MPI-WEC, where "The Greenbrier Diamond" was awarded. Remaining stops on the tour where a one-carat diamond will be given away include IT&ME in Chicago September 26-28, and Holiday Showcase in Chicago on December 12, 2006. Associated Luxury Hotels will give away more than $50,000 in one-carat diamond solitaires during the "20th Anniversary Diamond Tour" in 2006.
