Emirates Palace Appoints Sales Director
AUGUST 21, 2006. Emirates Palace announced the appointment of Philippe De Meyer as its Director of Sales and Marketing.
De Meyer is well-known within the industry for his exceptional marketing expertise and was previously General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Amman, in Jordan.
'I consider both a great honour and challenge to be working for Emirates Palace - a magnificent luxury property that has quickly established a reputation as one of the best hotels in the world. My focus will be to enhance the hotel's profile across the region and push even further into Europe and the rest of the world. It is an exciting challenge, one that I am really looking forward to,' said De Meyer.
In a flourishing career spanning more than 20 years, De Meyer has demonstrated a thorough and insightful understanding of the global travel and leisure industry. His academic preparation includes a post-graduate degree in economics, finance, marketing and business administration from the University of Gent in Belgium, where he also completed a master's degree in art and linguistics.
De Meyer has also successfully managed luxury hotels around the world, working with renowned and prestigious hotel brands. Emirates Palace General Manager Noel Massoud expressed confidence that De Meyer will provide the strategic leadership needed to market such a high-profile hotel.

In addition to his native Dutch language, the 51 year old De Meyer is fluent in French, German and English. Married with two children, De Meyer's hobbies include skiing, golf and going on foot safaris in Africa. 'I love adventures, and this recent appointment is the latest and most exciting adventure I have been on,' ended De Meyer.
