Desires Appoints New DoSM Hotel Mela in NYC
JUNE 11, 2009 - Desires Hotels, the unique collection of independently created modern boutique hotels, today announced the appointment of Mark Swetman as the Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Mela in New York City. In his role, Swetman will handle the development and execution of the total sales and marketing efforts of the hotel, including securing new accounts, supervising activities of sales personnel, and implementing sales and marketing strategies to maximize profitability. Swetman holds more than 18 years of proven sales success in the hotel industry, offering the Hotel Mela the opportunity to draw upon his wealth of experience. Throughout his diverse career, Swetman has carried out a full range of marketing functions including brand development, competitive positioning, and market segmentation. Prior to his appointment, Swetman was most recently the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Dolce Basking Ridge.
At Dolce Basking Ridge, Swetman was responsible for the sales & marketing supervision and management of 5 properties in the northeastern region. In this region, Swetman effectively supported the positions of Director of Sales and Director of Sales and Marketing. Swetman developed and actualized strategic revenue growth strategies throughout the Dolce brand, leading the drive for sales and marketing initiatives for the region. Preceding this occupation, Swetman held positions at both Park Central Hotel and Millenium Broadway Hotel where he helped manage sales objectives and develop pricing contracts.
