AUSTIN, TX, June 15, 2009 - The Crossings, Austin's premier green destination and wellness spa has named Alan Goldschneider as its new general manager. An accomplished and award-winning professional, Goldschneider brings more than three decades of experience in the hospitality industry. His wealth of expertise in opening and transitioning luxury properties has consistently earned them rankings among Cond'e Nast Traveler's Top 100 destinations.

Prior to joining The Crossings, Goldschneider oversaw the transformation of David Geffen's Malibu Beach Inn into a world-class hotel destination, while simultaneously serving as president of the Malibu Chamber of Commerce. Establishing European management principles, ensuring unsurpassed levels of service -- including the creation of a highly trained international staff -- and implementing cutting-edge trends and technologies earned the property numerous accolades and exceptional customer loyalty.

Goldschneider is a leader in hospitality technology, implementing the iTouch-driven guest experience at Malibu Beach Inn. He has traveled the world to keep his finger on the pulse of razor-sharp hospitality trends and technologies, and will be implementing those ideas and service levels at The Crossings.

Goldschneider's talent for transforming hotel properties was not lost on The Crossings co-founders Ken and Joyce Beck. His experience and intimate involvement with a property evolution from concept to completion - incorporating his passion for delivering services and amenities that exceed expectations throughout -- are exactly what the Becks were looking for.

"Alan's depth of experience and success in the hospitality industry will be a great asset to The Crossings," they said. "The Crossings has always been a leader in sustainable building and business practices. With Alan's leadership, we look forward to further innovation and evolution, and even higher levels of service, comfort, value and sustainability."

Born and raised in San Diego, Goldschneider became interested in the hospitality industry while still in high school. He began his career in New York at the Morgans Hotel, the first Ian Schrager property, where he served as the opening reservations manager. Goldschneider then joined Cunard Hotels as director of reservations and moved up the ranks to hold a variety of senior management roles, including responsibility for revenue and yield compliance at properties including The Ritz London, LaToc Suites in St. Lucia, Paradise Beach Club in Barbados and The Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. Along with solid operational experience at established properties, Goldschneider acquired unique skills while serving on the opening management teams of several luxury properties including the boutique Soho Grand Hotel in New York and the beachfront Hotel Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. After Casa Del Mar's launch, he was appointed director of rooms at its sister property Shutters on the Beach. Goldschneider also served as an efficiency consultant at Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas.

Goldschneider is a twice-recipient of the Malibu Chamber of Commerce's Businessman of the Year Award for his success at Malibu Beach Inn, and he was presented with a Malibu Times Dolphin award for his work in the community. He is also an Austin homeowner and avid wine collector.
