. June 20, 2009

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, June 19, 2009 - The historic Peery Hotel is pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan McKenzie as the assistant general manager.

McKenzie brings more than a decade of experience to the post. His new position is the latest advancement in a career that began when he was just 16 years old, working as a turn-down attendant in Tucson. Although only 27 years old, McKenzie knows the hotel business from the bottom up. He began working while a high school student at the Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Ariz.

After graduating from high school, he took on a job as PBX operator at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon, a vacation lodge on the edge of two world-renown golf courses in Tucson. A dedicated worker, he was promoted from operator, to bellman, to cashier, to concierge and then to bell captain.

In 2005, McKenzie took on the assignment of front office manager at the Whitetail Club & Resort in McCall, Idaho, a family-friendly hotel and resort on the shores of Payette Lake. After two years, he became executive housekeeper, where he oversaw the resort's housekeeping crew.

As assistant general manager, McKenzie brings hands-on experience and youthful energy. He believes his primary mission is to serve the needs of the hotel's guests and ensure they have the best experience possible. "It's a satisfying feeling, making a person's stay memorable," he said.

The renowned Peery Hotel, in the heart of Salt Lake City, personifies gracious hospitality and modern convenience. With 73 rooms and suites, the luxury boutique hotel serves the discerning modern traveler. Acquired by Jolie Quest Hotels & Resorts in 2007, the company recently completed a thorough exterior renovation of the property and added a state-of-the art fitness center.
