Horseshoe Bay Welcomes Robert Terry as Controller
JUNE 29, 2009 - Horseshoe Bay Resort in the Texas Hill Country is pleased to announce the appointment of its new controller, Robert Terry. In his new role on the resort's executive team, Terry will be responsible for all finance and accounting operations and will work closely with, and report in to, John Hankins, CFO.
"Robert is an excellent addition to the executive team, bringing over 20 years of finance and accounting experience," said Hankins. "His vast knowledge within the world of finance, coupled with his Marriott background, will surely be valued and utilized here."
Terry joins the 7,000-acre resort from Sentier Strategic Resources LLC in San Antonio, TX, where he was the owner and managing member, providing staffing solutions in the areas of finance and accounting management to clients including The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall in Montego Bay and the Renaissance ClubSport in Aliso Viejo, CA.
No stranger to the Marriott International family, previous positions include senior assistant controller of the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter and San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk. Terry also spent six years on the independent task force for over 30 domestic and international Marriott properties, providing assistance and management training services. He began his career at Marriott International in San Antonio, TX where he spent a decade as credit manager.
Terry is a certified hospitality accountant executive and an executive board member of the National Association of Credit Management of Texas, where he was the chairman for a year. Terry received his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and Bachelor of Science in international economics from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
