The Resort at The Mountain Announces "Wild About Game" Package

WELCHES (Mt. Hood), OR, August 26, 2009 - The Resort at The Mountain (The Resort), a premier golf, spa and ski resort located in the western highlands of Mt. Hood, is pleased to announce the special "Wild About Game" package in celebration of the 9th Annual Wild About Game Festival taking place on Sunday, September 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The "Wild About Game" package starts at $189 for two people and includes high-end, spacious accommodations at The Resort on Sunday evening, two passes to the culinary marketplace, cooking demonstrations and dinner for two at the Wild About Game Feast.

"This event is a fun and exciting way for food enthusiasts to learn and sample delicious ways to prepare a variety of game," said Paul Bosch, executive chef of The Resort.

The annual Wild About Game event highlights some of the region's best chefs in an "Iron Chef" style cooking competition and educational cooking demonstrations featuring a variety of game bird and meat. Chefs will improvise on-the-spot to prepare dishes featuring a "secret ingredient" - anything from quail to elk - to impress the panel of culinary judges including Chris Cosentino, Chef and Owner of San Francisco's "Incanto" restaurant; Janie Hibler, a three-time James Beard Best Book Single Subject award-winning cookbook author; and Tom Douglas, a James Beard award-winning Seattle chef and owner of six restaurants; among other guest judges.

Competing chefs include The Resort's Executive Chef Paul Bosch, plus nine other well-known chefs from the Seattle and Portland regions. The event will also include a culinary marketplace with food demonstrations, wine tastings, culinary seminars and cookbook signings.

Admission to the Wild About Game marketplace-only is $25 per person and reservations for the Wild About Game dinner-only are $55 per person.
