A New Where-to-Stay Website for Gay and Lesbian Travelers

. October 14, 2008

SEPTEMBER 5, 2006. A new travel destination website, www.pinkchoice.com, was launched on August 12, providing comprehensive peer reviews of accommodations for gay and lesbian travelers.

PINK CHOICE will benefit the gay and lesbian traveler by providing up to date information to help them choose a hotel, inn or guesthouse that meets their needs and budget, confident in the knowledge that when they arrive at their chosen destination there will be no surprises and they will be made to feel welcome.

Spearheaded by two successful Provincetown guesthouse owners, Trevor Pinker and Stephen Mascilo, one of the first gay couples legally to marry in the United States, PINK CHOICE aims to be the most reliable, honest and trusted website exclusively for gay and lesbian travelers seeking unbiased information about gay and lesbian-friendly accommodation worldwide.

Travelers will also be able to score properties they have visited against a set of criteria used to rank individual properties against others in their price range and location. The site will also benefit the property owners. As reviews are posted, their ranking will help drive future visitors to their establishments.

Each year, accommodations achieving leading rankings in the four price bands at each destination will receive the PINK CHOICE Award.

The $65 billion gay and lesbian travel market (CMI) is not currently served with an online travel resource that focuses exclusively on reviews by gay and lesbian travelers. For advertisers wishing to reach this affluent market, PINK CHOICE will provide an effective and efficient online environment.

At time of launch, over 400 accommodations in 16 destinations in the USA, Canada and Mexico are listed on the site. Over the coming months, PINK CHOICE will expand the number of destinations worldwide.

The concept for PINK CHOICE grew from the first-hand experience of the website founders and their frustration as gay travelers with the lack of up-to-date information about gay-friendly accommodations on their travels around the world.

Trevor Pinker said 'The value of PINK CHOICE will grow as gay and lesbian travelers post reviews of their accommodation experience, and in turn, use PINK CHOICE when choosing their next place to stay'.
