Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia Gets Green Certification
NOVEMBER 03, 2009 - The Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, Atlanta's leading hotel on the city's Northern rim, announces its certification by Green Globe, the premier international brand for sustainable travel, tourism and related green businesses. Green Globe traces its roots back to the United Nations Earth Summit of 1992, and uniquely looks at a hotel's effects on the environment as well as its impact on the community.
Green Globe Certification CEO, Mr Guido Bauer welcomes Crowne Plaza Perimeter at Ravinia into the select group of certified hotels that have chosen to have their green achievements verified against international sustainability standards.

Craig Hillyard, General Manager of The Crowne Plaza, said, “We have been engaged in a sustainability program for quite some time following the lead of our management company, Crestline Hotels & Resorts, which rolled out its own signature EarthPact program last year. EarthPact, as well as Green Globe, allow us to institute good business practices that facilitate an extensive recycling and composting program, energy savings, water conservation practices and environmentally friendly purchasing policies that proactively impact the hotel, our guests and the community,” added Hillyard.
Additional sustainable features include Concierge Floors with biodegradable amenities; linen reuse program, low-flow showerheads, low-flow sink faucets, Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee in all guestrooms. Biodegradable cleaning chemicals are used for cleaning public space and guestrooms. The hotel donates partially used guestroom amenities, discarded linen and furniture to local charity organizations. Energy efficient lighting was installed in 2008 in all public space, with guestrooms currently on schedule to be converted. Green Meetings are available to meeting planners, with all electronic communication and billing, recycling of waste and name badges, water stations, etc.
