Hyatt Regency Chicago Receives 2009 Workplace Excellence Award
Hyatt Regency Chicago is recognized as one of Chicago's top places to work
Chicago—Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Wacker Drive, is proud to announce that the hotel was selected out of thousands of companies operating in the Chicagoland area for the prestigious 2009 Workplace Excellence Award by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and Right Management. The award recognizes organizations that improve their competitive advantage through people practices that create value and positive impact for their business and workforce. Hyatt Regency Chicago was one of four winners presented with the award at the Chicagoland Workplace Excellence Awards Forum on Oct. 29. Geneca, KPMG, and Harris Bank were also honored.
“The Right Workplace Award provides important recognition for local businesses and non-profits that are among the top places to work in our region,” said Chicagoland Chamber President and CEO Jerry Roper. “Local employers are competing head to head for talent in the global marketplace and great workplaces improve our local quality of life and economic strength. We must continue promoting Chicagoland as an excellent place to live and work both nationally and internationally in order to keep a competitive edge in today's marketplace.”
The 2009 Workplace Excellence Award recognized Chicago area organizations that have shown significant results through the design and implementation of positive people practices to improve the culture of their company. Hyatt Regency Chicago was distinguished as an excellent workplace due in part to its unique programs and improved and enhanced business culture. The recognition by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and Right Management helps establish the hotel as a business with a competitive advantage in the city of Chicago.
Hyatt Regency Chicago's nomination process included site visits by the chamber's selection committee whereby the team met with various managers and associates questioning what it's like to work at the hotel. Hyatt Regency Chicago supported its case for its effective people, workplace, and engagement strategies with concrete results such as improved employee satisfaction and retention correlating to improved service scores and guest satisfaction.
At the awards reception last Thursday, Hyatt Regency Chicago's General Manager, Patrick Donelly, participated in an open forum with other award recipients to discuss best practices and effective strategies. The committee raved about the positive and enthusiastic feedback received from the associates met during the site visit.
