David Colella Inducted Into MLA's 2009 Hall of Fame

NOVEMBER 4, 2009 - Massachusetts Lodging Association (MLA) has inducted David Colella, vice president and managing director, The Colonnade Hotel (Boston), into its 2009 Hall of Fame. Colella represents the hotel industry among three honorees who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and professionalism throughout his or her career.
A 34-year hospitality industry veteran and native Bostonian, Mr. Colella oversees The Colonnade's the day-to-day operations and also serves as vice president of hotel operations for The Druker Company Ltd., The Colonnade's parent company. In this capacity, Mr. Colella oversees two additional Boston hotels -- The Midtown Hotel and The Inn at Longwood Medical Center. He is known not only for his professional expertise, but for his record of community involvement and charitable works.
A graduate of the Eugene M. Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he has served as chairman of the board of the Greater Boston Conventions Convention & Visitors Bureau since 2008 and is an active board member of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, First Night Boston, the Copley Society of Boston, and Skal Club International.
He sits on the Advisory Board of the School of Hotel and Travel Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and is a past Chairman of the Massachusetts Lodging Association, and past Chairman of the Advisory Boards of Historic Hotels of America and Summit Hotels & Resorts.
The award ceremony was held on Oct. 29, 2009.
