CARLSBAD, CA, November 23, 2009 - La Costa Resort and Spa has named Christine Cooper as director of sales. In her new role, Cooper will oversee all group sales efforts for the resort and lead a sales staff of 12.

“We are excited to welcome Christine to our team at La Costa,” said April Shute, vice president and general manager. “Her experience, enthusiasm and leadership skills will be integral in helping our sales team meet and exceed their goals.”

For the past 13 years, Cooper has enjoyed a successful sales career with Fairmont Hotels. She held numerous sales positions at the Fairmont San Jose and, most recently, was director of group sales for the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa. During her tenure with Fairmont, Cooper received numerous awards and recognitions for outstanding sales performance including being named one of 15 sales people in the company to the President's Circle.

Cooper is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
