Launched in January, the Captain Lord Mansion's Dime for Time Program will culminate with a complimentary November weekend for breast cancer survivors who log their stories on Facebook.

Kennebunkport, ME, May 4, 2010 - Captain Lord Mansion is seeking breast cancer survivors for a complimentary weekend to culminate their signature Dime for Time program. Captain Lord Mansion launched the Dime for Time program on January 1, 2010, pledging a dime for each guest who stays at the Captain Lord Mansion from January 1 - October 31. The Dime for Time funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer awareness and research programs that will help to give breast cancer victims a little more time with loved ones. Yet, there is a bonus to the program. If the guest has visited once before, the dime will be doubled. If the guest has visited 20 times, the dime will be multiplied by 20. In short, the pledge comes from the number of visits guests have had multiplied by 10-cents. After 32 years as owners, and a strong repeat business, the Captain Lord Mansion's Dime for Time program is thriving. The culmination of the Dime for Time program will be a weekend-long celebration of survival, where breast cancer survivors and their guests will be treated to hospitality, healthy treats and happy moments. Space is limited; breast cancer survivors interested in attending the complimentary weekend at Captain Lord Mansion are encouraged to send their stories via email and Facebook.

Those wishing to be considered must be breast cancer survivors and are asked to describe their stories and why they should win a free weekend on the Captain Lord Mansion's Facebook page, plus send their story via email to [email protected] before September 1, 2010. Facebook entries are limited to 100 words or less, but emailed entries may be longer. All emailed entries must include the name, address, phone number and email address of the sender for consideration. Entries must be offered both on Facebook and via email for consideration. The Captain Lord Mansion will ask Facebook fans to help select those to attend the complimentary weekend. All entries on Facebook will be anonymous.

Those breast cancer survivors selected will receive a complimentary stay at Captain Lord Mansion, November 19-21. Each survivor selected may bring one adult guest and together they'll be treated to accommodations at the inn, gourmet breakfast each morning, one complimentary spa service at the Captain Lord Mansion's in-house spa, and a luncheon with the American Cancer Society where donations from the Dime for Time program will be presented.

The Dime for Time campaign was created in honor the sister of Captain Lord Mansion co-owner, Bev Davis, who died of breast cancer. During the October Breast Cancer Awareness month, the notion of helping others with breast cancer spurred the idea to create this campaign. “We think one of the most meaningful wishes a breast cancer survivor has is for time; time to spend with their families and time to enjoy the rest of their lives,” said Rick Litchfield, Captain Lord Mansion co-owner and Bev's husband. “The Dime for Time campaign allows Captain Lord Mansion and its guests to contribute throughout 2010, allowing each person to make a difference, and to honor someone they know who has been touched by breast cancer” finished Litchfield.
