New Director of Event Management for JW Marriott Ihilani Resort
May 27, 2010 - The luxurious JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina announced Geri Marino as its new Director of Event Management.
“Geri is a great addition to lead our events and banquet team,” said Dan Banchiu, general manager of JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa. “She brings with her more than 20 years of hospitality experience, including 14 years in Hawaii, which will result in excellent customer service for our guests and clients.”
Prior to joining JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, Marino worked at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa for nearly 9 years, where she served as both Director of Event Planning and Senior Event Manager. She began her career with Marriott as a server in Omaha in 1987 and then worked at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, CA as a Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Supervisor and Convention Services Manager. She moved to Hawaii in 1996, working as a Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager and then Catering/Event Manager at Maui Marriott Resort & Ocean Club in Kaanapali.
Marino attended the University of Nebraska and received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Bellevue University.
