Latest Finance Issues Discussed at HFTP's 2010 Club and Hotel Controllers Conference
Austin, TX, USA - June 30, 2010 - Nearly 200 professionals gathered to discuss current hospitality finance issues at Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals' (HFTP®) Club and Hotel Controllers Conference. The conference, co-located with the 2010 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), was June 22-23 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. It included an extended education schedule with two full days of education, and HITEC-related benefits like access to the largest hospitality technology exposition and an expanded group of peers to network with.
"The Club and Hotel Controllers Conference was a great tool to bring fresh ideas, information and outlook back to my club," said Elaine Wahl, CPA, comptroller for Belleair Country Club and 2010 conference attendee.
The conference's education included two industry-specific concurrent tracks — one for hotels and the other for clubs — and three general sessions. Popular topics included the conversion to IFRS, the latest in government matters, PCI compliance, food and beverage sales and more. "This conference contained excellent information and ideas for the hospitality industry. I enjoyed hearing about upcoming changes in the accounting arena," said Joan T. Land, director of accounting at Starwood Vacation Ownership and 2010 conference attendee.
