Fairmont Washington, DC Announces Two Appointments
July 27, 2010 - George Terpilowski, General Manager of The Fairmont Washington, D.C. is pleased to announce the appointment of Cassandra LaChance as director of human resources and Julie Rice to Group Sales Manager for the 415-room Fairmont Hotel.
Prior to her new position, LaChance was the assistant director of human resources for The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston. Joining Fairmont in 2007 as a Leadership Development Program participant, LaChance completed rotations as front office manager and recruitment manager. She was soon appointed recruitment manager and then assistant director of human resources. LaChance holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Johnson & Wales University with a major in International Hotel & Travel Tourism.
Rice will handle business for the small meetings market. Prior to joining The Fairmont, Rice held several positions within The Ritz Carlton, Washington, D.C., including sales coordinator, sales assistant and guest relations coordinator. During that time, she was recognized as the Five Star Winner and was twice awarded the Sales Intensity Award. Rice holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in public relations and international business administration from the University of Alabama.
