1859 Historic Hotels Ltd. Partners with Stash Hotel Rewards

Now Part of the Largest Point-Based Program for Independent Hotels in the U.S.

GALVESTON, TX - November 16, 2010 - Texas-based 1859 Historic Hotels Ltd. has implemented a new guest rewards partnership with Stash Hotel Rewards®, enabling travelers to earn free nights at upscale independent hotels throughout the U.S.

“Guests can now quickly earn points toward free nights each time they stay at five of our properties in Texas, Colorado, Kentucky and Virginia,” said Eugene Lucas, president of 1859 Historic Hotels. “Those points can be redeemed at any of the 100 distinctive hotels in 74 cities participating in Stash, without blackout dates - and the points never expire.”

“Quality has always been a hallmark of our company,” Lucas said, “but our most loyal guests were at a disadvantage because they couldn't earn points for free nights like they could at some of the chain hotels. Now they can take the family to Colonial Williamsburg Virginia, for example, and earn points toward a weekend getaway in Colorado.”

The five 1859 Historic Hotel properties included in the partnership are The Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky; The Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas; Williamsburg Hospitality House in Williamsburg, Virginia; The Cliff House in Manitou Springs, Colorado, and The Overton Hotel and Conference Center in Lubbock, Texas. When guests stay at any one of those five hotels, they can earn points redeemable for nights not only at those five properties, but also at any hotel participating in Stash. Because Stash partner hotels are among the most elite in the country, the points have even greater value.

Lucas said 1859 hotels like The Menger and The Brown are hospitality landmarks beloved for their historic ambience and rich heritage, and the Stash program gives them a new competitive advantage in a value-conscious world.

Guests can easily sign up for a free account at the Stash website, www.stashrewards.com. Points can be earned immediately, and redemption is simple and free from inflexible restrictions. Additionally, Stash members have access to exclusive travel deals like point bonuses matched to their travel history, or weekend get-away offers customized to their home city.

About 1859 Historic Hotels Ltd.

After nearly a century in business, 1859 Historic Hotels Ltd. owns and/or operates over a dozen hotels in Texas, Virginia, Colorado and Kentucky. Many of its properties are vintage architectural landmarks and some are modern, but all tend to be well-located in their communities - next door to the Alamo, for example, across the street from the college football stadium, in the heart of downtown or near national landmarks like Pike's Peak and Colonial Williamsburg. Based in Galveston, Texas, the company takes its name from the construction date of its oldest property, San Antonio's historic Menger Hotel.
