NEW ORLEANS, LA, January 23, 2007. The JW Marriot New Orleans is pleased to announce the appointment of David Cole as director of sales and marketing. Cole brings a decade of wide-ranging hospitality experience to the four-star property in the heart of New Orleans.

In his new role, Cole will be overseeing all sales and marketing activities. The property, located in the middle of the Central Business District, offers 494 well-appointed guestrooms and suites. The hotel boasts 19,000 square-feet of upscale meeting and event space, complete with 20 meeting rooms, including the magnificent Ile de France grand ballroom. Additionally, the hotel features one of the top five steakhouses in the country, Shula's Steakhouse.

Cole's appointment follows his most recent position as the director of sales at the Chicago Marriott Downtown. Prior to that, he held the post of director of sales at the InterContinental Chicago. Before joining InterContinental, Cole spent seven years at various Hilton properties in Chicago, Houston, Minneapolis and Hawaii. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University.

"The JW Marriott New Orleans' strategic location, just steps from famed French Quarter and in the middle of the Central Business District, makes it an ideal address for both business and leisure travelers. I'm looking forward to leading the JW's sales team and helping to significantly grow all market segments in the coming year," said Cole.
