February 22, 2011 - Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, Kota Kinabalu was awarded the Rakuten Silver Award by Rakuten Incorporated, Japan for the resort's contribution in successfully promoting Kota Kinabalu as a key holiday destination for travellers in Japan, leading to increased web traffic and productivity through the Rakuten website.
