February 23, 2011 - White Lodging's Courtyard by Marriott property in Golden, Colorado will have a new leader at its helm. Joshua Jorden has accepted the position of General Manager of the 106-room, four-suite hotel that is located just 15 miles west of downtown Denver.

A graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in Business Management, Jorden started his career in 2007 with Marriott International as a Guest Service Representative. He moved up to Guest Care Manager for the Courtyard by Marriott in Ft. Worth, Texas and then joined the Market Sales team as an Account Executive. In this position, he acquired sales-side skills by promoting six different Marriott brands.

Most recently, Jorden was the General Manager for the TownePlace Suites by Marriott, one of the brand's long-term stay properties. While there, he grew market share, improved guest service satisfaction results and increased profit. "After the announcement of Joshua's promotion, I was amazed at how many notes I received regarding his part performance and his abilities," said Regional Vice President Lucie Manley. "Obviously, he is highly thought of in our industry, and we are fortunate to have him on our team."

While with Marriott, Jorden took advantage of many leadership programs, helping him build his skills in leadership, management and guest services. When asked to comment on his move to Colorado, Jorden said, "First and foremost, I want to create an atmosphere that is both pleasant and exciting for our guests and our associates.
