March 23, 2011 - San Francisco based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants today announced several new hires to its development team, which will provide a solid foundation to move quickly on acquisition and management opportunities across the country.

Former Wyndham executive Jesse Stein has joined Kimpton as senior director of development and acquisitions for the Western U.S., a new position based in the company's San Francisco headquarters. Stein will work directly alongside Kimpton development and acquisitions veteran of five years, Dina Winder, whom the company recently promoted to senior director, also for the Western U.S.

Kimpton's Jason Brown, who was formerly part of the company's finance team for three years, will relocate to New York to serve as director of development and acquisitions. He will work directly with Maryland-based Tom Riley, Kimpton's vice president of development and acquisitions for the Eastern U.S.

In addition, Kimpton hired Kathryn Proctor as an associate, development and acquisitions based out of the San Francisco office. Proctor was formerly with Fillmore Capital Partners.

“As the transaction market recovers and the growth in the boutique segment continues, we are now better poised than ever to take advantage of both acquisition and management opportunities in the market,” said Joe Long, chief investment officer and executive vice president of development and acquisitions for Kimpton. “With our newly bolstered development team we can respond quickly and efficiently to all types of deals.”
