Shannon Walters Joins the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa as Director of Group Sales

RIVERSIDE, CA - April 13, 2011 - The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, the historic California landmark located 55 miles east of Los Angeles, has appointed Shannon Walters Director of Group Sales. The 239-room property offering six dining venues, a state-of-the-art spa, the region's only on-property chapel, and 20,000 square feet of group space is the premier location for group functions and meetings in Southern California.

Bringing more than a decade of sales management experience to The Mission Inn, Walters will oversee the Group and Business Travel sales team to further strengthen relationships with existing clients and lead the team in strategic new account development.

"Shannon has an impressive sales management background, a passion for customer service and a can-do attitude,” said Owners and Keepers of the Inn, Duane and Kelly Roberts. “Her in-depth knowledge of the industry and Los Angeles market make her the perfect candidate to lead our talented Group and Business sales team.”

Before joining The Mission Inn, Walters served as Senior Sales Manager at Los Angeles' Pacific Palms Hotel & Conference Center where she was responsible for new business development, handling new business technology, and mentoring and training sales managers. Prior to that, she was a sales manager at Hilton Long Beach Hotel & Executive Meeting Center.

Walters received a degree in General Education from Long Beach Community College. She currently resides in Norco with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys summer camping trips and supporting her daughters' activities, which include cheerleading and dance.
