SilverBirch Appoints David Philip as SVP, Investment and Portfolio Management
April 20, 2011 - SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of David Philp as its Senior Vice President, Investment and Portfolio Management. Based in Vancouver, Philp will be instrumental in the implementation of the corporate strategic plan focused on the future growth of the company.
Philp holds a degree from Cornell University with a major in hospitality management and development. He started his career in various operational roles with Hyatt Hotels Corporation when Philp became interested in the investment side of the business. Since then, he has worked for numerous hotel and resort development and consulting companies throughout the United States. Immediately prior to his appointment, Philp served as Executive Vice President for a private investment firm where he provided oversight for the company's acquisition and development functions for a collection of boutique hotel properties.
