. October 14, 2008

JANUARY 29, 2007. Following an award winning inaugural year, Emirates Palace shines once again by being voted to the 2007 Conde Nast Traveller's Gold List, the ultimate guide to the world's hotels that conform to the prestigious publication's Gold standard.

Emirates Palace joins an exclusive list of renowned properties all over the world that feature the best service, rooms, food, ambience and design, location and leisure facilities based on votes submitted through the magazine's 2006 readers travel awards survey, as well as votes cast by its editors.

'It's been a fantastic year for us, and we could not have done it any other way. From the onset, we have showed our commitment to Kempinski's high standards of service excellence and professionalism, and our efforts have certainly been recognised not only by out guests who have given us tremendous occupancy rates throughout the year, but also by the general public who sees Emirates Palace as a one-of-a-kind property that deserves its place as one of the world's best,' said Noel Massoud, General Manager.

In only its first year, Emirates Palace's list of achievements is enviable, obtaining the highest awards from luxury lifestyle specialists Robb Report and Stars and Stripes Awards, which gave the Palace its highest possible honour and the World Level Perfection Award, praising the luxury hotel for impeccable and world-class customer service.

Massoud paid tribute to the hotel's staff as the reasons behind its unprecedented success. 'Day in and day out, our staff make sure that we treat our guests to an unforgettable experience unrivalled by other luxury hotels in terms of value. Each guest enjoys palatial hospitality that makes their stay at Emirates Palace truly memorable. These satisfied hotel guests in turn become genuine ambassadors for the hotel as they share their unforgettable experience with others. On our second year, we aim to build on that service excellence even further, and improve on areas where we feel we can do better,' he added.

In addition to reaping various honours from prestigious publications, 2006 provided a rich harvest of awards from various trade organisations. At the recent MENA Travel Awards, staged annually to celebrate the skills, creativity, ingenuity and triumph of the Middle East and North Africa's growing travel industry, Emirates Palace dominated by winning the highest honors - the Platinum Awards - in three categories, the most by any hotel, including Best New Hotel of the Year, Best in Convention and Conference Facilities, and Best Tourism Project.

During the World Travel Awards in London, the biggest and most prestigious in the travel industry, Emirates Palace capped its banner year by winning the World's Leading New Resort and the World's Leading Presidential Suite awards. It also received the Middle East's Leading Conference Hotel and Leading Presidential Suite awards in addition to Abu Dhabi's Leading Hotel citation.

Built in the style of a majestic Arabian Castle rising from the desert sands, Emirates Palace is situated on a 1.3 km stretch of private beach and surrounded by hectares of manicured lawns. Emirates Palace is operated by Kempinski as part of their prestigious portfolio, which comprises distinctively individual properties in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America and Asia.
