Chance Jorgensen Appointed GM of Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - May 6, 2011 - Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa announces the appointment of its new general manager, Chance Jorgensen. In this role, Jorgensen will oversee all operations of the National Historic Landmark, 120-room property and help guide the completion of the resort's planned $20 million renovations project.
A seasoned hospitality executive, Jorgensen brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the position and extensive knowledge in the areas of luxury lodging and fine dining.
Jorgensen comes to the Gideon Putnam from another Delaware North Parks & Resorts-managed property, the AAA Four-Diamond Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite National Park, where he served as general manager for six years. Prior to joining the Ahwahnee, he held management positions at Princess Cruises, including food and beverage manager at the Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge.
Jorgensen began his career in the hospitality industry at the Grand Teton Lodge Company, in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, where he spent five years. He then moved on to Smoke Tree Ranch, a private resort in Palm Springs, California, where he was food and beverage manager for 10 years.
A graduate of the University of California at Berkley, Jorgensen also served in the United States Marine Corps.
