Fairmont Promotes Ian Wilson to Regional VP, China & South East Asia

Hong Kong - June 3, 2011 - Fairmont Hotels & Resorts (FHR), which has increased its portfolio over the last year with high profile additions like Shanghai's Fairmont Peace Hotel and Fairmont Beijing, has promoted Ian Wilson to regional vice president, China and Southeast Asia.

With four hotels open in China and Southeast Asia and a significant development pipeline, Wilson, who most recently directed operations as general manager of Fairmont Singapore, moves into the new role to provide greater support to Fairmont's growing presence within the Asia Pacific region. The quintessential hotelier, Wilson brings a dynamic mix of experience and industry knowledge to the new position.

Wilson has spent the past 24 years of his career with Fairmont, originally starting with the company at The Fairmont Banff Springs. He assumed various roles before transferring to the company's global reservation and distribution operations in Canada, ultimately leading the group as executive director. Wilson was then appointed hotel manager and subsequently general manager of The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto - the company's largest hotel.
