Kevin Sanford Named DoSM for Island Hotel Newport Beach
NEWPORT BEACH, CA - June 24, 2011 - Island Hotel Newport Beach, an AAA Five Diamond property set amidst five lush acres in the heart of New24port Center, has named Kevin M. Sanford its new director of sales and marketing.
According to Richard R. Evanich, managing director of Island Hotel, Sanford will oversee all aspects of marketing and related activities for the 295-room hotel, including strategic development and implementation of all branding programs, annual marketing plans and market research, as well as the production of print and electronic marketing collateral, and website development. In addition, he will lead and direct conference services, group, transient and catering sales teams.

With more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience, Sanford was most recently the national sales director for the Long Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. He also has extensive experience in the luxury hotel arena, and was with The St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif., for six years, working his way up the ranks from senior sales manager to director of sales. Prior to that, he was national sales manager for the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif. He is a resident of Huntington Beach.
