Genenvieve Dumas Named GM, Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello

Montebello - September 12, 2011 - Fairmont Hotels and Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Geneviève Dumas to the position of General Manager, Fairmont Le Château Montebello. Ms. Dumas will oversee the famous 211-rooms resort, which is located half way between Ottawa and Montreal along the Ottawa River.

Most recently Dumas held the position of General Manager at the Marriott Residence Inn and Hilton Homewood Suites in Mont-Tremblant. Prior to taking on her GM role in Mont-Tremblant in 2009, Geneviève held various positions within Fairmont Hotels & Resorts such as Director of Operations and Interim General Manager at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, as well as the Interim General Manager, Director of Operations, Rooms Division Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Sales Manager and F&B Manager over the course of her 12 years stint at Fairmont Tremblant.

This MBA graduate from UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal) has gained valuable skills over the past two decades, working for airlines and restaurants, both in Canada and internationally including two years in the Middle East - Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

In addition to her busy schedule as a General Manager and mother of two, Geneviève has held a teaching position educating Hotel Management Students from ITHQ (Institut de tourisme et d'hotellerie du Quebec) in sales and marketing, customer service and operation management since 2010.

Even in her personal life, she enjoys a good challenge; in fact, Dumas was the Canadian winner of the 16th edition of the Rally Aïcha des Gazelles, an International all women Rally in Sahara desert, Morocco.
