September 21, 2011 - Aston Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Malana deSilva as general manager of Aston at Poipu Kai on Kauai.
Aston Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Malana deSilva as general manager of Aston at Poipu Kai on Kauai. She was previously general manager for three Kauai condominium resorts including Kiahuna Plantation, Pono Kai Resort and Kauai Coast Resort. A veteran of the hospitality industry, deSilva came up through the ranks starting as a switchboard operator, then serving in a variety of positions including front desk clerk, night auditor, homeowner liaison, front services manager and executive housekeeper.
DeSilva has served on the board of directors for the Kapaa Business Association and the Coconut Plantation Association. She has been honored with numerous awards, including manager of the year by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA). DeSilva is a Certified Hospitality Administrator (CHA) and holds a Hawaii Real Estate Agent license.
