Hersha Names Mark Wagner GM and Deirdre Yack Area DoSM for Hyatt 48 Lex in New York

New York, NY - October 28, 2011 - Hyatt 48 Lex , which just opened its doors this fall, has made two significant apbr> pointments to its management team: Mark Wagner as General Manager and Deirdre Yack as Area Director of Sales and Marketing.

As General Manager, Mark Wagner will oversee all operations of Hyatt 48 Lex. He arrives with 14 years of dedicated service and experience at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Wagner joined Hyatt directly following graduation from San Diego State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He has proven himself a strong leader, successfully managing more than $276 million in Hyatt projects throughout his career.

Wagner didn't have to travel far to reach the new hotel on Lexington Avenue. In fact, he arrived from just six blocks away, where he was Rooms Executive of Grand Hyatt New York, a Senior Executive position that saw him overseeing the growth and development of 30 Operations Managers.

Previously, Wagner served at noteworthy Hyatt properties across the country, including in San Francisco, Westlake, Greenwich, Detroit, and on Long Island. At the last, he was instrumental in the acquisition, rebranding and full renovation of Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge, New York.

There is passion behind Wagner's success, including a dynamic personality and love of golf, gourmet food and wine. Guests of will get a taste of Wagner's oenophilic passion on the extensive wine list at Lexicon Lounge at Hyatt 48 Lex, which he helped develop.

Deirdre Yack
As Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Deirdre Yack is responsible for all sales and marketing efforts for Hyatt 48 Lex and Hyatt Union Square (opening 2012), including developing innovative strategies to increase meetings and event revenues and to fill studios and suites with business and vacation travelers alike.

Yack joins Hyatt 48 Lex from Fashion 26 in Chelsea, where she served as opening Director of Sales and Marketing beginning in 2010. Previously, she held hospitality sales-related positions at other New York City properties, including AVP of National Sales for Denihan Hospitality, Sales Director of Regent Wall Street; Assistant Director of Sales at Omni Berkshire Place; and Sales Manager at Le Parker Meridien.

An active and involved hospitality professional, Yack is the Recording Secretary on the Executive Board of the New York City Business Travel Association and sits on the Director of Sales Special Interest Group for the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association. She is also enthusiastically involved in the New York chapter of Dress for Success, her favorite charity.

Yack studied at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
