Landmark Restaurant at Warwick Melrose Dallas Hotel Lands a New Look

Opens as Dallas' New Location for Upscale Casual Dining

. January 26, 2012

January 25, 2012 - Landmark Restaurant at Warwick Melrose Dallas Hotel will set its latest mark in history as it re-opens its doors with a brand new look. Now open as the new location for upscale casual dining, Landmark Restaurant's extensive renovations include a new dining decor, refreshed menu and greatly expanded wine selection. The renovation follows recent upgrades to the famous The Library bar and guest rooms.

Guests arriving at the newly refurbished restaurant will be greeted by the giant wine vault housing almost 400 bottles of wine. With an expanded wine list, Landmark Restaurant will now serve over 30 by-the-glass wines and 170 bottles of wines from all over the world, including Australia, Chile, Spain, Italy and France, to name a few. “We searched globally for the best tasting and most affordably priced wines to offer great wines at a great value,” said Larry McAfee, General Manager of Warwick Melrose Hotel. “We focused on bottles of quality wine within the $40-$55 range to entice and excite our consumers to try a variety of wines they may otherwise would not have had the opportunity to experience.” The Chef's Table, featured in the center of the dining room, will be the host to bi-monthly wine tastings, perfect for large groups.

According to McAfee, the wine menu isn't the only Landmark Restaurant menu getting a makeover. With a continued focus on fresh and locally grown ingredients, Executive Chef Mike Pacheco has created menus to complement the upscale casual dining experience. Raves and compliments are being received on a number of new menu items, including Seared Fish Tacos with Jicama Slaw, Spicy Crema & Fresh Salsa, Gulf Shrimp & Lobster Papparadelle Pasta, Grilled Angus Filet Mignon with Portabella & Porcini Ravioli, Tuna Poke on Crisp Gyoza, Soy Sesame Sriracha & Wasabi, and last but not least, Pan Seared Scallops with House Made Chorizo & Celeriac Puree. Whether it's to get your day started off right with a delicious breakfast, or you need that perfect place for a power lunch, Landmark Restaurant has the great food and relaxed atmosphere you crave.

Complementing the wine and food menus is the re-designed restaurant decor. Under the direction of Duncan Miller Ullmann Design, the room proudly displays an exquisite crystal creation from Swarovski©, new marble floors and modern window treatments. Also responsible for the recent renovation of The Library bar, Duncan Miller Ullmann Design took a similar approach to Landmark Restaurant, updating the timeless look and feel without drastically changing the ambiance of the restaurant.

“We've added classic lines and silhouettes and warm, tailored finishes, making the space more inviting,” said Kimberly Miller, co-owner of Duncan Miller Ullmann Design and the lead designer on the Landmark Restaurant project. “We also used a lot of deep coloured leathers. We wanted to bring the feel of The Library bar into Landmark Restaurant, while still keeping it as a separate and unique place to dine, and paying tribute to its storied history.”

One way Duncan Miller Ullmann Design did this was to capture various Dallas landmarks with photographs of the famous areas and buildings that make Dallas what it is today. These pictures cover the wall in the private dining alcove of the restaurant and illustrate the timeless beauty of not just Landmark Restaurant, but Warwick Melrose Hotel too.

Located just minutes from downtown Dallas, Warwick Melrose Hotel is a perfect mix of character, charm and modern luxury. The Four-Diamond AAA hotel opened in 1924 and was named a Dallas historic landmark in 1983. It offers 184 luxury guest rooms and suites, approximately 6,400 square feet of banquet and meeting space. Nightly entertainment in a sophisticated atmosphere awaits at The Library bar, and Landmark Restaurant offers upscale casual dining.(www.warwickmelrosedallas.com)
