Loews Don CeSar Hotel Names Stephen Cummings GM
July 18, 2012 - The recently renovated Loews Don CeSar Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Cummings as general manager. With 22 years of hotel experience, including 13 with Loews Hotels, Stephen takes the helm of Florida's legendary “Pink Palace” in the heart of St. Pete Beach.

In 1999, Stephen joined Loews Hotels & Resorts as executive chef of Loews Coronado Bay Resort in Coronado, California. He quickly advanced to be the director of food and beverage and eventually was promoted to director of rooms. Stephen then moved to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort as executive assistant manager, taking the number two spot at one of Tucson's most beautiful golf resorts. From there, he was promoted to general manager of the Loews Denver Hotel, where oversaw all of day-to-day hotel operations along with sales and marketing.
A native of Manchester England, Stephen graduated from the Oldham Culinary School and began his hospitality career as banquet chef for the Renaissance Hotel in Manchester. He moved to the United States in 1991 to be the executive sous chef at the Renaissance Hotel in Springfield, Illinois and then proceeded to be chef tounant at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. Stephen has also held executive chef positions at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York City and the St. Regis Hotel in Aspen, Colorado.
Today, Stephen takes over the reigns of the Loews Don CeSar Hotel, Resort, the newly enhanced 84-year old Historic hotel, and its 277 guestrooms, luxury Spa Oceana, award winning Maritana Grille restaurant, and backdrop to hundreds of weddings and conventions each year.
When not at work, Stephen enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his wife, Maria, and their sons, Esteban and Kristian.
