INDIANAPOLIS, IN - September 17, 2012 - The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel, has added to its senior management team, hiring Amanda Lewin as corporate sales manager. Scheduled to open in early January, The Alexander is part of CityWay, a new 14-acre neighborhood developed by Buckingham Companies that also includes residential, office and retail space in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.

The 209-room luxury property will be unlike any other hotel in the region, with an emphasis on art, sustainability and unparalleled service.

Prior to joining The Alexander, Lewin was national sales manager for Las Vegas, Nev.-based Vdara Hotel and Spa, a non-gaming and non-smoking boutique hotel on the Las Vegas Strip developed by MGM Resorts International. Lewin helped develop the Vdara brand prior to opening, and established a high-end client base which resulted in numerous repeat programs and multi-year contracts in order to fill the 1,500 hotel suites and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Before joining the Vdara Hotel and Spa, Lewin was convention sales manager for the Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. There, she worked closely with the convention sales management team to sell and fill 4,000 rooms and 300,000 square feet of meeting space.

“We are fortunate to attract someone with Amanda's experience to The Alexander,” said Michael Moros, general manager of The Alexander. “The creativity and knowledge she brings to Indianapolis from working at some of the most renowned hotels in Las Vegas will be an asset to our corporate meetings customers.”

As corporate sales manager, Lewin will lead a team to promote The Alexander's robust meeting and event offerings. The Alexander offers a range of options for meetings and events, from the 3,520 square-foot Alexander Ballroom to the intimate, 685 square-foot Ralston Penthouse Boardroom. A 2,400 square-foot outdoor terrace space and breakout session rooms in a variety of sizes provide additional flexibility for meeting and event planners to design an unforgettable and enriching experience for attendees.

As a Dolce Hotel, The Alexander is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC), which means that the hotel conforms to the association's exacting standards and guidelines for flawless execution of meetings. The hotel is outfitted with complimentary wireless Internet throughout the property, as well as the latest in A/V and technical equipment. To help take the guesswork out of budgeting for events, The Alexander offers planners a Complete Meeting Package (CMP), which includes all meals and refreshments, room accommodations, A/V equipment and setup and even food and beverage gratuities for a set, per-person price.
