151-room Holiday Inn Winnipeg Airport Polo Park Opens
$14 million conversion hotel opens near the James Armstrong International Airport
Octopber 25, 2012 - IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON:IHG, NYSE:IHG] announced the opening of the new 151-room Holiday Inn Winnipeg Airport Polo Park. The property is the first and largest hotel to open in the rapidly growing Winnipeg airport area. The renovation includes a complete redesign of the building's exterior, lobby, food, and beverage concepts, meeting spaces and guestrooms.
Conveniently located by James Armstrong International Airport, the property is just five minutes away from downtown. Also a short drive away is Winnipeg's famous Polo Park shopping centre, the largest in Manitoba, featuring the best of Winnipeg's shopping, dining and entertainment.
The property includes features in keeping with the $1 billion Holiday Inn re-launch, the biggest ever project of its kind in the history of the hospitality industry. First announced in 2007, the re-launch program creates a more contemporary brand image as part of the drive to increase quality and consistency across the global portfolio.

The 110,000 sq.-ft. Holiday Inn Winnipeg Airport Polo Park was developed to be more efficient to build, operate and maintain,offering a variety of other amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness centre, a luxurious steam room and a variety of business services. With 20,000-sq. ft. of function space, the hotel is available for business meetings and banquets. For the kids, Rainforest Splashpark offers an exciting and interactive waterpark experience.

The hotel design creates a residential atmosphere that is warm, trend-forward and comfortable. The hotel features a natural, fresh color palette punctuated by pops of energetic colors. Guest beds are made using crisp, white bedding with pillows that come in two comfort levels: “soft” and “firm.” The bathrooms include a specially-designed showerhead that offers superior pressure, as well as a signature shower curtain with curved rod and new amenities.
The residential design includes business-focused necessities like an ergonomic work station, data ports, complimentary high speed Internet access in guest rooms and WiFi capabilities. In addition, each room has the standard Holiday Inn guestroom accommodations - comfortable double, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, cable television, hairdryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board.
The Holiday Inn Winnipeg Airport Polo Park is owned and managed by AP2 Developments, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group and is located at 1740 Ellice Avenue.
