Bacara Announces New Leadership Team
Santa Barbara - November 5, 2012 - Bacara Resort & Spa, Santa Barbara's premier oceanfront resort, is pleased to announce the addition of four executive directors to its leadership team.
“Since Ohana Real Estate Investors purchased the resort in July 2011, the resort has seen significant improvements in all aspects of our operating standards and efficiency,” said Kathleen Cochran, general manager of Bacara. “With our complete leadership team in place, we are well positioned for even greater success ahead.”
The four additions to Bacara's leadership team include:
Tom McLaughlin , Hotel Manager
McLaughlin oversees the operational aspects of the five-star 360-room resort with a strong focus on service and guest experiences. He brings more than 26 years of diverse hospitality disciplines to his role, most recently serving as director of rooms at The Regency Hotel in New York City. Prior to that, he held a variety of rooms and food and beverage positions for Loews Hotels in Miami, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and San Diego. He is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and holds a bachelor's degree in in hotel management.
Danette Perrotta , Director of Finance
Perrotta has spent the last 30 years in the accounting and finance field, consistently achieving revenue and profit targets and increased operational efficiencies. Her impressive career began as the resort controller for Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in Ojai, Calif. Most recently, she served as chief financial officer at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif., managing the financial operations of the 440-room destination resort, spa and golf course. She has earned her certified hospitality accountant executive designation by the Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals organization.
Jeff Gillick , Executive Director of Sales & Marketing
Gillick serves as executive director of sales and marketing, overseeing the resort's group and leisure sales efforts, revenue management and market positioning. Gillick brings a dynamic leadership style to his role, most recently serving as director of sales and marketing for The Boulders, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Prior to that, he held multiple sales and marketing positions across the U.S., including The US Grant Hotel in San Diego and Wyndham hotels.
Anne Stephany , Director of Marketing & Communications
Stephany serves as the director of marketing and communications, overseeing the strategic public relations, marketing and social media strategy for the resort. An award-winning public relations practitioner, Stephany has earned two Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence awards and is a past president of the Public Relations Society of America's San Diego Chapter. Most recently, she served as a regional director of public relations for Loews Hotels in California. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from San Diego State University.
The four directors join Bacara's existing executive committee members, including Adam Martindale, director of food and beverage; David Reardon, executive chef; Ron Parker, director of engineering; Shana Ominsky, director of spa and wellness; Adriana Wells, director of human resources, and David Brown, director of security.
At the helm is General Manager Kathleen Cochran, a 35-year veteran in the luxury hospitality industry. Cochran, who worked for the prestigious Plaza Hotel in New York City and the historic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, also completed a 24-year tenure with Loews Hotels, most recently as general manager of Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego where she received numerous accolades for her management success, industry innovations and community collaborations.
