WHITE PLAINS, NY, February 23, 2007. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.(R) (NYSE:HOT) announces the opening of The Westin(R) Tysons Corner in Falls Church, Virginia. Formerly a Doubletree Hotel, The Westin Tysons Corner has undergone a comprehensive $21 million dollar renovation of all guest rooms and public areas as part of its conversion. Ideally located in the heart of Northern Virginia's business district, The Westin Tyson's Corner offers convenient access to the Washington D.C. metro area and to Dulles International and Reagan National airports. The hotel is less than one mile from Route 66 and close to premier dining and shopping venues at the Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria, both of which are accessible via a complimentary shuttle.

Guests will also appreciate the hotel's close proximity to Washington D.C.'s corporate and government offices, as well as to local attractions including the Smithsonian Institution, the Capitol, the Kennedy Center and the National Air and Space Museum. The Westin Tysons Corner is the fifth Westin hotel to open in the Washington D.C. metro area, adding to the brand's existing portfolio of four hotels in or just outside the city.

"The Westin Tysons Corner further strengthens Westin's growing domestic portfolio, particularly in the country's top tourist destinations," said Sue Brush, senior vice president, Westin Hotels & Resorts. "The instinctive service and focus on personal renewal of the Westin brand is a perfect complement to the energy and excitement of the Washington D.C. metro area."

The extensive renovations to The Westin Tysons Corner include upgrades to its 408 guest rooms and to the hotel's 14,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. The renovations also include upgrades to the Blue Fire Grille restaurant and the Blue Fire Lounge, the Westin WORKOUT(R) Powered by Reebok fitness center and the pool.

Reflecting Westin's dedication to personal renewal through intuitive service and signature amenities and products, The Westin Tysons Corner features The Westin Heavenly Bed(R), as well as Westin's new sensory welcome, which includes a white tea scent, music, lighting and botanicals. In keeping with its mission to refresh mind and body, Westin was the first hotel brand to adopt a "smoke-free" policy in hotels in North America.
