McCall Restaurant Manager Becomes Certified Sommelier
Dave Boyle to Oversee Wine Program at Whitetail Club and Shore Lodge
June 7, 2013 - The Narrows Restaurant and Wine Manager Dave Boyle has become a certified sommelier through The Court of Master Sommeliers. Boyle will utilize his extensive education and experience to oversee the wine programs at the five restaurants and banquet operations at Whitetail Club and the nearby Shore Lodge located in McCall. Achieved through a rigorous training program, the designation makes Boyle the first certified sommelier at the private club and iconic resort.

Boyle is putting his certification to work as he manages the ongoing development of The Narrows' two-time Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winning list as well as the extensive lists at the private club and resort's four additional restaurants. Other efforts include his oversight of seasonal winemaker's dinners with some of the country's top vintners as well as exclusive events and private parties for the Whitetail Club membership.
Though he originally hails from Tucson, Ariz., Boyle has called McCall home for more than a decade. He worked seasonally at Shore Lodge for six years before joining the team, full time, four years ago. Boyle's passion for the grape was sparked through dining with family and friends, where he discovered the intricate ways in which wine pairings affect the flavors in food. “One day, I realized the way a good Nebbiolo could set off a plate of osso buco like nothing I'd ever tasted,” said Boyle. “I knew then that I wanted to know more.”
