Sochi Hotel Prices Up 121% for Winter Olympics
January 28, 2014 - Hotel prices have increased by 121 per cent during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia (7 - 23 February). One night during the Olympics will cost an average of £148.
According to hotel price comparison website www.trivago.co.uk, there is a price peak on the second weekend (Friday 14 and Saturday 15 February). Visitors will pay an average of £163 on these two nights, which is a 144 per cent increase. Interestingly, prices are most affordable during the opening ceremony on Friday 7 February (average of £136) and the closing ceremony on Sunday 23 February (average of £125).
